Last Cruise 2022

So the Friday before last, September 30, was the last car cruise in Coralville, Iowa, and the last car show of any size until next spring. Naturally, I went. I’m trying something a little different, transcribing texts I sent to my friend in Texas, Jayson Coombes, on the show. He’s a fellow car nut and we text car show pics all the time, in season. So here we go, in chronological order. After, I went to a fantastic local pizza place in Iowa City, Pagliai’s Pizza, which was totally mobbed due to a Hawkeye game the following day. This Week’s Klockau Lust Object: 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special

You know the routine. ’70s Cadillac. Klockau sees. Klockau goes nuts. And proceeds to do a quickie post. So here we go!

I’ve always loved the 1970 Cadillacs. This is largely due to a classmate in my early elementary school years, whose mom had a faded but still excellent gold 1970 Fleetwood Brougham with white top and white leather interior. Vintage New Car Test: 2015 Ford Mustang GT: 435 HP, No Waiting

NOTE: Here’s one of the last columns I did for the Curbside Prune. My God, was that only eight years ago? Seems like twenty, ha ha! -TK
Yes. Four Hundred Thirty Five horsepower. Wow. That is only 15 horses shy of the 2001 Dodge Viper my mother once owned. And, I mean, it was a VIPER. This is a Mustang–yes, a GT model, but still attainable for most folks who really want one. It really is amazing how the horsepower race has been racing sky-high over the last decade, has it not? Oh, and the 2015 Mustang itself? Well, I like it.
