Another Brougham Era Brougham, with gargantuan size, room, gas-sucking 440 CID powerplant hitched to a creamy smooth TorqueFlite automatic, and exceedingly plush interior you can sleep eight people in! This week’s find is being sold by my friend Anthony Rose, who sells vintage Broughamage, and not so vintage Broughamage, like a pristine 1993 Sedan de Ville in Taupe with matching interior and factory alloys and whitewalls recently sold to a happy local motorist. Canadian 1969 Dodge Monaco: Top Dog Dodge

ED: Another one from ‘The Vault.’ Thought it was appropriate since we were just discussing silver interiors recently!

I love Fuselage Mopars. As the 1969-73 full-size Mopars, from basic Plymouth to top-drawer Imperial, are affectionately known by collectors. And while there are highs and lows in Fuselage-land (of course I love the more luxy versions: Imperials and New Yorkers) I can find some appreciation for all of these land yachts. I especially liked this black over silver 1969 Monaco when it appeared on eBay back in 2014 or so.

1973 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban: Family Truckster

I don’t know about you, but I have always loved woody station wagons. And with the advent of tippy-toed, ill-handling crossovers, three-quarters of which are ugly enough to scare a bulldog off of a meat wagon, I love them more than ever.

Like this top of the line, Di-Noc clad, bechromed Plymouth from The Year Of Our Lord, 1973. Sure, it’s massive. Sure, it’s a goner in any impact with a 2000-up motor vehicle with crush zones and dual airbags. But look at her. She’s gorgeous!

This past Friday, I attended the monthly Classy Chassy car club’s cruise night out at Coral Ridge Mall. I enjoy this show very much. It is held the last Friday of the month from May through September, and I’ve seen some pretty cool cars there.

The best part is the variety. Sure, some cars I see frequently, but there are cars I will see once, and never again. You really never know what will be on hand! I like that. Especially since many of our local shows are attended by the usual suspects. When you’ve seen the same red 2002 Mustang V6 with Cobra badges, belly-button me-too Resale Red hot rods and various and sundry brand-spanking-new muscle cars, variety is a most welcome antidote!

Today, we discuss the early 1970s Chrysler New Yorker. Yes, the “Fuselage” full-size Mopars, which were first introduced in autumn 1968 as ’69 models. It was a brand new look for the big Mopars, which had been rather square-rigged from 1965 to 1968. But now, from Plymouth to cream-of-the-crop Imperial, curviness and smooth lines were the order of the day.
