Many thanks to the infamous Felis Concolor, who sent me this pair of books for my own improvement and self-study.
“Don’t you already have kind of a ‘Gorilla Mindset’?” Danger Girl asked, upon seeing the unpacking of the books.
“It’s more of a ‘Bonobo Attitude’, truthfully,” I responded.
The first book, SJWs Always Lie, is the astoundingly popular takedown of social-justice culture by professional shit-stirrer and sci-fi-controversialist Vox Day. The second, Gorilla Mindset, was written by Mike Cernovich, who is most famous for challenging Sam Biddle to a boxing match. Both books, and both authors, are considered to be talismans of the “alt-right”.
What is the “alt-right”? I’d suggest it’s what you get when you overuse the social “antibiotics” of progressive shaming and name-calling: a bacterial growth of crimethinkers who are utterly unafraid of being called racist, sexist, homophobic because those words are applied with equal vigor to everyone from Thomas Jefferson to Spike Fucking Lee. Both men are essentially self-employed and therefore mostly immune from the various doxxing tactics used against people who need to go to a job every day.
I’ll have a review of both books in the near future. Thanks again to Mr. Concolor!

Here’s something I’ve wondered for a little while: Am I in the wrong for complete failing to understand all of this stuff? As far as I can tell, the only thing worse than over-the-top or disingenuous political correctness is the group of people who have devoted their lives to fighting “SJWs”, which is a thing that seems to only exist on the internet and maybe in some colleges, where kids have radicalized whatever was the prevailing zeitgeist since the beginning of time, no?
I’ve always been repulsed by all “social media,” how it’s used, and what it contains, so maybe that’s why, but I get the impression that a vast silent majority is entirely unconcerned and unaffected by any of this, and it seems like much ado about nothing.
Having looked briefly at the sites of both authors, I don’t understand what they’re offering. Paying no quarter to whiners and the impotent and living your life among reasonable people of your choosing seems like obvious advice, and frankly I question anyone who needs to hear it. Vox has #GamerGate right at the top of his page, which tells me he’s eager to associate with the most socially helpless self-labelled group I’m aware of.
I suppose it’s all an interesting if obvious response to increasing sensitivities towards a broadening range of abnormalities or quirks or whatever, but I don’t see the importance I guess, just seems like controversy for its own sake.
There’s a broader war going on against free speech. And some of this SJW causes are taken seriously by politicians. See sex assault presumption of innocence being thrown out the window.
If you’re even in a community that gets taken over by SJW’s, you’ll get it. So while you can avoid a lot of this by staying off social media, regular places get taken over too.
“There’s a broader war going on against free speech. ”
*sigh*
“free speech”/the 1st Amendment only places limits on what the GOVERNMENT can proscribe. It does not guarantee you an audience, it does not shield you from consequences. I’ll refer you to one of my favorite webcomics:
https://xkcd.com/1357/
Lets do a thought experiment:
Pretend I’m a lot crazier than I am and I find you disagreeing with me on the internet to be the worst thing in the world so I make it my mission to find out who you are. After finding out who you are, I troll through any social media or comments on websites you have ever made and find something to take out of context that isn’t politically correct . I take this out of context speech and get 5000 of my closest friends to call your boss and ask him “hey, do you agree with what jz78817 said about this?” Now, if one crazy cook does it, your boss will probably ignore him, but if people call day after day and harass the man because of something you said on the internet, eventually he’s probably going to think it’s not worth it to keep you around anymore and he fires you.
You’re cool with this hypothetical because ‘speech has consequences’ and the government isn’t doing the persecuting?
BTW, this little thought experiment is happening to people
Here’s some people who got fired for saying things on the internet
https://voat.co/v/GamerGate/comments/703335
We’ve gone way past that. The orwellian shadow bannings and ‘trust and safety council’ at twitter are perfect examples.
In much the same way that otherwise intelligent people argue that the Second Amendment only protects the right to own a blackpowder muzzle-loader, plenty of people like the idea that the First Amendment only applies to standing on a soapbox in the town square.
Facebook, Twitter, et al. are dangerously close to becoming public utilities. At that point, they’ll have to be regulated like public utilities. Your local gas company can’t turn off your service because you wore a Trump hat or a Che shirt in public.
Posting comments on this blog technically is usage of “social media”. So.
*Nerd voice*
Well, technically…
But seriously you’re right, that was kind of a dumb, sanctimonious thing to say, but I’ll just say that knowing myself, the shoe fits.
When I think of “social media” in scare quotes, I think of the free-for-all of Twitter and Facebook which appear to be havens for people who, whether for good reason or not, seem not to have much of a voice in their day-to-day reality. From the outside, it looks like a significant majority of users are only there to talk shit and really have nothing of substance or value to contribute, which in my mind backs up my hunch that they may be used to not being taken seriously.
That’s partially why I’m such a babe in the woods when it comes to all this, since I’ve never actually met anyone who believes in microaggressions I assumed they were just internet people who were confined to the bottom of the societal scrotum pole, making waves through mob justice.
You act like you can be left alone to do your thing. You are missing stage two: Enforce real world consequences for wrong opinions in cyberspace.
Let me introduce you to the CCC - the “Code of Conduct” Crusade. I would rather take those people who snick at you and ask you whether you have been saved and want to come to a Sunday night rally.
The “Code of Conduct” crusade tries to replace the old ethic of open source — if it works, we’ll take it; we don’t want to know who you are - with a weird hugbox idea that we have to know the specific rank and privilege of every single developer, has made a very real “SJW” attack on coding. Further, it sets up social activists to be judge, jury, and executioner for open source projects and developers who just want to enjoy a hobby that they don’t get paid for.
How do you know the person suggesting the code of conduct is an SJW crusader and not a real contributor? Their first contribution is a trouble ticket asking for a code of conduct, attacking some anonymous “The Man” in charge of running the project as a racist/sexist/homophobe, claiming somehow that the lack of contributors of X persuasion to the project is a sign it is not “safe”, slinging mud at the actual contributors in a shock-and-awe tactic, and then citing the very mud they came to sling as a reason for the “toxic” environment as to why their particular code of conduct must be established, with them on the committee that can shove everyone, even the original creator of the software, out of the project.
Linux had a war between a woman at HP and Linus Torvalds wherein she wanted the corporate backers to take the kernel from him because he called her a name. He calls everyone names. Linus won that one, refused to hand over control to a committee that would have evicted the great man himself from the project, and the Linux kernel marches on. It plays out over and over again, to this day. See for reference: Ruby, Opal, PHP
There’s nothing wrong with being right, nor is there anything wrong with being confident that you’re right. Torvalds frequently takes it too far; it’s not enough that he makes you accept that he’s right, he also needs to pound you into the ground for being wrong. It’s a very, I don’t know, adolescent way of dealing with other people, akin to a middle school bully.
You can be confident without being an asshole. Too few people understand the difference. And those that do think “being an asshole” is something to be proud of.
The PHP stuff is an absolute mess.
Oh yeah, and that blue whale Harper who was trying to take over FreeBSD. Thank G-d she left: http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/01/01/freebsd-community-breathes-sigh-of-relief-as-toxic-activist-randi-harper-finally-quits/
All of that sounds awful.
I guess because of my isolation from and ignorance of this fight, I’ve framed this in my head as “reasonable” people who can accept that life is not fair or kind, and “unreasonable” people who want safe spaces where they can imagine that they have an enforceable right to be treated nicely all the time and no one will take advantage of their weaknesses. In my fantasy world, the latter group is held back by their own inability to deal with reality, so I’m at a loss if they’re reaching positions of influence.
I can’t wait to read the comments =8-) .

“Bonobo attitude”, to me, means plentiful masturbation and throwing of poop 😉
I don’t yet know about these two guys (but will look), but whenever (and I literally mean “whenever”, as I’ve never seen an example that wasn’t) I see someone on Twitter self-identify as “alt right” they’ve got arayan images and are making explicitly racist statements. So I have…uhh.. tarred the whole community as teeth-having versions of the KKK. Was I wrong to do so?
There are many Jewish members of the alt-right, including our own Ronnie Schreiber and Cernovich himself.
Anti-Semitism is a highly-visible part of the alt-right, but in general I think you could find more Jew-haters on the progressive side of the aisle. It’s always presented as “pro-Palestine” or “pro-Gaza”, but frankly when I look at this picture I have trouble figuring out why so many Arabs think they need to occupy areas close to Jerusalem:
http://acdemocracy.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/map_middle_east-1.png
Though I’m somewhere in the dextrosphere I’m not sure that I’d categorize myself as alt-right, mostly because of the association of the term with Jew-haters who identify as such, but I’d agree with Jack that today more Jew-hatred can be found more on the left in this country than on the right. More important than gross numbers, though, is relative influence. The Jew-haters on the right have essentially no purchase on the mainstream Republican party (though we’ll see if that changes due to the appeal of Trump to disenchanted white working class males) while the Jew-haters who cloak their bigotry in “anti-Zionism” are more than welcome in the Democratic party.
I ask liberal Jews, folks who give money to the Dems, about this and they shrug their shoulders.
Aesop said that any excuse will serve a tyrant. Leftist Jew haters attack Jewish capitalists and rightist Jew haters attack Jewish communists. The extreme right and left join together dancing on Jewish graves.
As for the Middle East, the Jews committed two unpardonable affronts to Muslim ego. To begin with, they’re uppity dhimmis, who should know their place as official second class citizens under Islam. More seriously, they are dhimmis who claim title to a land that Muslims consider to be “wakf”, under Muslim domain.
The sub rosa relations Israel has with Sunni states and the obvious desire of Turkey to maintain relations and trade with Israel despite Erdogan’s crude Jew-hatred gives me some hope for the future but I wouldn’t reduce spending for the IDF anytime soon.
Sometimes I look toward’s Pike’s Peak from my house and realize in some sections of Israel, there’s less distance between their enemies and the sea. Give me 2 hours on the interstates out west and I can drive a farther distance than the longest line through that land.
And the Palestinians are the one group I’d never take investment advice from. They were given the chance for half of the land in dispute after WWII, and decided no loaf was better than half. They then threw their lot in with the rest of the Arab world against Israel and watched as their chosen foes carved out yet more land for themselves.
I did read with detached interest when JPFO called out Ted Nugent’s recent statement that “Jews for gun control are Nazis in disguise.” Part of me hoped for a “he’s right; stop trying to disarm your own people” response.
Well, I deplore both racism and leftist SJW politics, so I guess I break your mold.
As to Jack and Bonobo’s flinging poop need not be taken literally…being what was called in NYC a shit-disturber, not necessarily a term of opprobrium, could be sufficient to justify the symbolic linkage.
And if I recall my biology correctly, (male) Bonobos have a tendency to prefer dog-style, so much so that it probably should be called Bonobo style.
I know Jack a bit from online, but not well enough to be able to testify as to his Bonobo-ness in that category, but anyone can clearly see that he likes to stir the pot whenever and wherever he sees that it needs a good stirring, and that alone might be enough to support the analogy.
I took a quick look at Cernovich’s “Danger and Play” website and now wonder how many times this guy has been divorced. He holds women in reaaaally low regard.
He’s engaged to a pretty gal. He doesnt hate women, he just doesnt think they’re special princesses. Any reading of Jack seems like he comes to the same conclusion.
Most women who think that they are special princesses are manifestations of narcissistic self-centeredness, not exceptional beauty, charm and intelligence.
But IMNERHO such “princesses” are relatively manipulable by anyone with a bit of a king-like attitude who manages to manifest a semblance of crowning said woman as his queen, whether this is his true attitude or not. For better or worse, I find such conquests to be somewhere between hollow victories and Pyrrhic victories, depending on the emotional casualties fostered by such encounters.
OTOH, every once in a thousand or a million times, there appears a woman who is both intelligent and beautiful, and whose self-conceit is not stratospheric. When they also have enough emotional intelligence to see through, and go beyond, the usual dating games, they can be extremely threatening to most men, yet can also be the best, or even only, possibility for a congruence between real life and story book/Hollywood type love stories.
The first half of my ostensibly adult life was busy, if not filled, with women of the former type, so much so that I both doubted that anything better was possible, and I began not liking myself for settling for the same dumb “dating game” over and over for a couple of decades.
Then just when I was about to begin polishing my act for being a grumpy old man, so that I would have the act down by the time I became truly old, I met one woman who played the princess role to the hilt when she was able to get away with it, which, given her brains and beauty, was pretty much whenever she felt like playing the game.
Fortunately for me, she had tired of “the scene” about the same time that I had, several months to a couple of years before we met. And although neither of us had much experience renouncing the prince and princess role-playing, we both were so attracted to each other that we were willing to try.
What ensued was a decade more or less of both of getting over manipulating relationships to get our own way, in order to finally settle down to a truly happy “til death do us part” relationship.
But the world is so full of “pretend to be princesses” and I suppose likewise for men, though that is not my problem, that it does not amaze me that about two out of three marriages ends in divorce.
What amazes me is that as many as one out of three do not. Though I suppose the fact that many endure even though the people aren’t happy accounts for some of that.
But the “Hollywooding”, TV brainwashing, Barbie-doll imaging of American views on love have become so pervasive that I literally give thanks every day for what I managed to find, when I least expected it, a couple of decades+ ago…
I don’t mean to sound condescending, though I’m sure what I have written will be construed as such by many. Instead, I am truly saddened to see how ill-prepared especially younger people seem to be when confronted with the problem of finding and sustaining a real relationship.
And believe me, I am no guru at this stuff…I had many a relationship, both with and without benefit of official paperwork, crash and burn after one, two or even five plus years, before I found one I would literally die for, and am glad to live with for the rest of my life.
I wish I knew how to teach people to find what I found…I could make a fortune, as well as make a lot of people happy, if I knew how to be “the relationship whisperer”, a la “the dog whisperer”. But alas, I do not. It was all I could do to recognize what I had and that it was worth the effort we both had to put into building and sustaining it.
But if I were stuck with nothing but a panorama of “princesses” like those I once was in hot, and I do mean hot, pursuit of, I’d be one hell of a depressed older person today. In many ways, it is more like I won “the lottery” of love, rather than that I did much of anything right. But whatever it was and is, I’ve got, I’m grateful for it, and I am willing to try to live it to the best of my ability every day, because I know how prevalent “princesses” are, and how rare a truly genuine woman who honestly ranks at the top on each and every scale, truly is.
That is all. I am going to bed now, to sleep with her one more night, as that is the best place I have ever found to be happy. I sincerely hope any and all of you who are tired of “the princess games” get lucky as I have been. But in the meantime, stop wasting your time trying to convert a princess into a woman. As they say about trying to teach a pig to sing, you will only get dirty and the pig will get annoyed.
And I fully acknowledge that the same seems to apply for men as well as women, so no gratuitous feminist counter-attacks are necessary.
A local security chief for a top rapper, when asked how he and the rapper developed such a great rapport so quickly, replied “real recognized real”. That is the closest I can come to describing what happened one Friday night, years ago, across a room full of people. And for once in my life, I was all in…fortunately, we both were, though for a good while, neither of us was sure about the other, just about our own feelings. Today we laugh about how stupid we were to not believe that the other person was as sincere as we were. Though of course, there had been ample conditioning to make us, or anyone wonder.
Fortunately, neither of us were playing games the night we met. And FWIW, we were both stone cold sober at the moment that we were both “struck by lightning”.
It has been fun writing this and remembering how much my life changed from what I believed to be possible, to what I now know is possible. Adios, amigos, y buenas noches…
I enjoy your stories of you and your wife.
It certainly isn’t easy. The masses of people telling us ‘you’re perfect the way you are and if someone can’t see them it’s their loss’ instead of ‘hey, relationships take work’
Thanks for your comments, everybodyhatesscott.
The best part of the story is that we both found true love after we had just about given up “playing the game”. That and the fact that we both had to change in order to become comfortable with what we had.
I don’t know why we ended up being “the lucky ones”, but I know in my heart that we are. At the risk of sounding like I am proselytizing, I think a lot had to do with taking our marriage vows as 100% binding, and our recognition of the fact that there was an authority greater than either of us that we needed to turn to in times of difficulty or disagreement. Some people will balk at this, but both my wife and I know and believe this to be true.
“I don’t mean to sound condescending, though I’m sure what I have written will be construed as such by many. Instead, I am truly saddened to see how ill-prepared especially younger people seem to be when confronted with the problem of finding and sustaining a real relationship.”
I think you’re falling into the trap of believing that the way things were and how things worked out for you when you were young is “the way things ought to be” and should never change; and that succeeding generations are doing it “wrong” and should be pitied. Honestly, that’s another thing I’m really tired of hearing. You don’t set “the standard.”
You’re like the tenured university professor who is forced to teach a 100-level course to a bunch of 18-year-olds. “How can these stupid kids not understand quantum mechanics?”
I have no idea where you get your interpretation of my comments from, jz.
The fact that I think that my son might be able to learn and benefit from some of the things I had to learn the hard way, in no way implies that I believe I am infallible, or that the world has, or should, remain invariant from my day to his.
And if, perchance, something I have said gives you the impression that I am in anyway equivalent to a tenured professor, or that am indifferent to the plight of younger people in an exponentially different world than the one I grew up in, or even that I think I have all the answers, just because I think there might be something of value in my experience, well, I really don’t know what gave you any of that idea.
Like the old baseball umpire response “I just call ’em like I see ’em.” :And I see the mistakes I made when I was younger, and I believe that there are certain things that must happen in a relationship for a man and a woman to be truly happy and secure with each other, things that are largely invariant regardless of the cultural milieu in which couples live.
When I was busy being a “player” it was because I thought that that would be the most satisfying course of action available to me. And when I finally came to believe that perhaps “storybook” romance could be real, I came to understand that there was a better way of being. And that led to me having to change a lot of things about how I thought and how I operated, as it did for my wife as well.
Due to the way that the world was when I was being a “player”, it was possible for me to escape from that phase of my life relatively unscathed…post-pill, post-Roe v. Wade, pre-GRID/AIDS epidemic. Today there are no more such “free passes” for young people…no matter how much one wishes to minimize the risk, casual sex CAN kill, and that was never a part of the equation in my “heyday”. So young people, if anything, have an even tougher time, and need to be even more careful about how they approach things.
It is not me who is telling them that things should remain the same…if anything, things have needed to change, in a way that just makes it that much tougher for younger people to find love and happiness.
But my noting that fact to my son does not imply that I think he must make the same choices I made…only that certain things that I have learned and/or observed may illuminate his path in a way that might be able to save him some emotional grief, or worse.
I don’t know anyone who is a greater advocate of the fact that the world changes, and that people must make their choices based on the way that the world is, and is becoming, and not on the way that it has been. So for you to say that I think that younger people must do things the way I did seems to me to be completely wide of the mark.
maybe you should try getting to your point in fewer than 682 paragraphs.
You don’t have to hate women in order to regard them as lesser or have some low opinions on them in general, and being engaged to a pretty gal proves nothing other than he is engaged to pretty gal.
Nor is it necessary to look down on or undercut someone to avoid putting them on a giant pedestal, special princesses or no.
I hope that- sometime before I die- we in this society can get past the idea that everyone has to be categorized into one of two extreme ends of the spectrum. ‘Cos right now the incredible polarization of everything is pretty fucking disgusting. Apparently if I dare disagree with someone more conservative on anything- event just one topic- I’m a worthless bleeding heart liberal.
Yet another reason I will not bother to vote in November. You all can have your “with us or against us” bullshit.
Elections these days have sunk to a “lesser of two evils” level. Not a contest of who will do the most good, more a contest of who will do the least damage.
yes, and I think it’s absolute shit that it’s reached that point. And don’t dare tell me “if you don’t vote then you can’t complain.” I’ll bitch all I want that I’m expected to choose between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.
I’m just so sick and tired of the toxic culture it’s spawned. I generally refuse to discuss any of my social/political beliefs with anyone because it will inevitably degrade into a shouting match. It turns people against each other for no goddamned reason. I sit at work and hear people bad-mouthing their own kids behind their backs because they have the “nerve” to not follow their parents’ political beliefs in lock-step.
People can really disgust me at times.
It’s a side effect of our first past the post system of elections.
This is a rather simplistic account, but a good illustration on the logic behind why two-party systems typically spawn from first past the post electoral systems.
I understand the perspective most of these types of books are coming from, but yet I still can’t find my own voice being reflected in the bitter tone that they seem to be written. I’d offer that I was merely projecting, but I’m not particularly bitter about anything except perhaps why self-help books like this find such a significant audience that needs such help in the first place. I’ve had toxic people, definitely toxic women, in my life, but I’ve managed to deal with each summarily and mostly to my satisfaction and my terms on my own. So I suppose there is really no voice for me in these books. I’ve just talked myself in a circle.
Yeah, that’s what I meant to say.
My thoughts are similar to yours, Rock36.
I learned almost all of this stuff from a slightly older mentor, a boxing instructor who walked the walk. One of the smaller and less handsome men I have ever know, he also had great character, and refused to run with a lot of whore-ish young girls, because he said he didn’t want to be left in the dust when he finally met a really great woman, which he eventually did.
I didn’t follow all of his advice when I was younger, but I learned to not let myself by wrapped around any woman’s finger, and it worked as a fairly effective bait, enough so to keep a smile on my face in my personal life for over twenty years, through good and bad relationships.
Never needed to be told to act bold and independent. My mentor and the USMC drill instructors he convinced me to get to know did a great job of that.
And I have not only not felt the need to be further coached up about the subject, I have never felt like I wanted to try to “share the knowledge” with other men, even if I could write a best seller. Instead, I have felt that whatever knowledge I had acquired should be treated more like the way that Chinese families treat their martial arts knowledge…as something to be retained within the family, in order to prevent their relative advantage from being diluted by dissemination of effective knowledge.
And as such, I have only shared what I have learned works with my son, and in part with my long-time wife and companion, who knows who I was when I met her, and became willing to go beyond just “what works” for the first time in my life. As a result, my son has successfully avoided and extricated himself from a few relationships that were headed towards his being played like a piano, and while he is still looking for the right woman for him, at least he has a clear picture of what he does and does not want.
In essence, it is probably a lot like what is involved with a Gorilla Mind-set, but minus the hawking of the concept…he moves quietly and slowly, until it is a time for him to move quickly. There is little doubt in my mind that he too will find an exceptional woman who will be willing to go beyond “The Rules”-type relationship management for and with him.
That is good enough for me, and for my wishes for him.
For those who are in danger of ending up trapped in incel-land, however, I encourage you to listen to what this man says, because if you don’t understand it, you need to learn to understand it, if you want a better life for yourself.
Challenging Sam Biddle to a boxing match was hilariously impressive. I am proud to be neuroatypical, and strongly anti-bully, so while I do not feel the need for Mike C’s advice, I am glad that he is offering it to those who can benefit from it.
On what planet is a large, strong man challenging a small, weak man to a fight “hilariously impressive”? What a tacky proposal, so much so that it almost manages to elevate Sam Biddle to looking like a reasonable person for declining.
As soon as I posted that, I realized that someone would jump up defend Sam Biddle from being “picked on” by Mike C. The only problem is that Sam Biddle is a notorious online bully, and for someone to turn the tables on him, and in a way that precluded him whining that someone was threatening him with physical violence, was a nice takedown of a bully.
Mike C would not have had any reason to call out Sam Biddle, if the latter had minded his business instead of playing the role of a pretend-alpha male, one who routinely bullies others via his role as house-bulldog for Gawker.
Where was Sam Biddle’s presumptive intellectual and verbal superiority, when he maintained absolute silence when someone treated him as he treated others? He certainly was big, mean, cool superior Sam Biddle at that point, was he?
Kudos to Mike C for showing how to get a bully to back down from his pretentious air of superiority. If Sam Biddle were who he wants you to think he is, he would have at least taken Mike on verbally. But that would have exposed him for the essentially powerless and cowardly bully that he is.
So why are your panties in a bunch over that?
If you think I was defending anyone in this situation, I wonder what you think disparagement would look like. They both look like assholes, and I’m saying If this guy could have used his words to any effect, he should have.
Sam Biddle is a little shit and that’s not a secret. His job is to write takedown articles, anyone who can see and understand that context should know not to take anything he writes seriously unless it directly threatens your livelihood or wellbeing.
I’m not sure what purpose challenging him to a fight was supposed to serve- I probably wouldn’t get my ass publicly kicked for $50k to charity either. Silence or mocking are the correct response to the act of publicly calling out a non-fighter to fight on the internet, and it’s unbecoming of his presumed intelligence. He doesn’t look like the bigger man, and when you’re being compared to Sam Biddle, that’s a bad bad bad thing.
practically nobody who writes for Gawker or most of their sites (Jalopnik aside) is reasonable. I really have no idea why Jalopnik keeps promoting Alissa Walker’s repeated “BAN CARS!” screeds.
It’s hard to take seriously any defense of Gawker’s lead sociopath - so I won’t.
Sam Biddle deserved every single second of his post-apology breakdown, and GamerGate’s supporters and Mike Cernovich are to be commended for inverting the Twitter mob’s hate machine right back into their hypocritical faces.
“It’s hard to take seriously any defense of Gawker’s lead sociopath – so I won’t.”
Who exactly is defending him? Do you realize that both parties are at the extreme ends of their respective ideologies? I’ve wasted too much time now at Mr. Cernovich’s site, and it’s equally as strident, manipulated, and straight up spun as Gawker, it just replaces the tone of bitter, impotent, “SJW” passive-aggression with one of bitter, hubristic, impotent rage. I don’t know who I find more distasteful, even though one side seems more productive.
This is not by any means a suggestion that Jack shouldn’t read the book, he’s a grown-up, but if all rants are solicited, I’m gonna go ahead and this guy an asshole.
I have to say that I have real and genuine issues with Cernovich’s endorsement of steroids.
That alone is enough to make me tread carefully when recommending what he writes. Not because steroids are dangerous to him — I trust that he can do the math and make his choice — but because I worry that his relatively sane-and-logical-sounding endorsement will make more young men try them.
Has there been a group more dedicated to destroying livelihoods than SJWs since the Hollywood blacklist days? See Mozilla or donglegate
Bonobos are unique for doing it missionary, btw. Or so I’ve heard.
I heard they like to attack from behind, as well. Seems like they are the authors of the Kama Sutra of the monkey-like world.
Interesting, and here I always thought humans were outliers for the missionary position. What we considered vanilla, was down right kinky in the rest of animal world. Eye contact during coitus? That’s madness!

I have to say that it is interesting that Mr. C. feels that it is necessary to ha a strategy for making new friends.
Doubtless there are people who need a strategy, but thought never crossed my mind, because (a) I have made good friends over the years without the need for a strategy and (b) I neither need nor have time for lots of friends.
Mr. C. seems to have found a way to make money by serving as a surrogate big brother/older and wiser friend to those who feel somewhat lost in the universe.
