Year: 2022

Today’s guest post is a bit of fiction-loosely-based-on-real-events from RG reader John Curry. It may not be appropriate for all ages — jb “Motherf…” Joe muttered when the fan blade hit his head as he stumbled to his bedroom in the attic he and his dad rented from their boss. “The one thing from home…

Saturday Free For All: Unrestored ’59 Eldorado Biarritz

This was a car photographed by a friend of mine in Sweden some time ago. At the time she posted the pics, I went nuts. An unrestored Eldorado Biarritz? A blue chip collector car, one of 1,320 built, worth a ton? Just simply driven and enjoyed?

Not that long ago, when my dear brother was announcing my ascension into the rarefied air of corporate executives, somebody commented that he or she would appreciate some perspective on the sales profession. Our commenter said, “I just don’t know if I’d do a good job at sales or like sales.” I have been in…

This Week’s Klockau Lust Object: 1973 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham

Here we go again! Another Brougham Era Brougham, with gargantuan size, room, gas-sucking 440 CID powerplant hitched to a creamy smooth TorqueFlite automatic, and exceedingly plush interior you can sleep eight people in! This week’s find is being sold by my friend Anthony Rose, who sells vintage Broughamage, and not so vintage Broughamage, like a…

Sneak Peek: 1973 Pontiac Luxury LeMans

If you remember my buddy in Spokane, Jason Bagge, AKA The Brougham Whisperer, he’s just today acquired yet another ’70s era Detroit cruiser to refurbish and enjoy. A Florentine Red 1973 Luxury LeMans coupe.

Vintage ads from 1977

Awhile back, I was up at my parents’ cabin for a weekend of R&R and a model car/promo show in nearby Cedarville. My mom and dad bought the place in 1993, and the cabin is a treasure trove of vintage stuff-photos, books, magazines and a still-functioning VCR with a ton of movies on tape.

1975 Cadillac Sedan de Ville: The Color of Money

Here’s another spectacular survivor from the ’70s luxury car wars! I was minding my own business earlier this afternoon when my friend Jayson Coombes texted me the link to this ’75 SDV on ebay.

JUST like a Mercedes. Or not.

So, since I was going through my old brochures and stuff today for the Granada ESS post, I ran across more of the humorous “Granada looks like a blank” ads they did back then. Enjoy.

1978 Ford Granada ESS: Dearborn AMG?

Here’s another interesting oddball from the Me Decade. I spotted it this afternoon on Marketplace; its for sale in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Formula 1 Before the Beautiful People

Note: Another guest submission by Patrick King. -TK Now that the Big Three road and street races in this part of Florida are behind us my attention turns to media coverage and in-person access at Formula One events in the current year compared to days past. This weekend, F1 TV Pro will present me with…
