It’s the story of a test drive I took with a friend. Wisely, R&T‘s online editor-in-chief, Alex Nunez, removed the part where I talked about drifting on public roads.
The thing sells well down here, or seems to, I see at least 1 everyday. It is affordable and there is really not much competition to it (me thinks).
In the US… where a V6 Mustang, a Miata, a Genesis and who knows what else can be had for similar money… I guess the story ends slightly differently.
I keep hearing the Toyobaru is a sales turd. Has anyone looked at the numbers for US specifically? I thought it was flopping mostly internationally.
Jack, was there any chance the Subie sales guy didn’t push the BRZ sale over the Outback because they’ve been selling BRZ’s for full sticker and with limited inventory, they know they’ll get someone to buy it? Meanwhile they HAVE to move old, discounted Outbacks off the lot asap.
Btw, this is by no means in defense of the horrendous sales people. I was laughing out loud reading the piece. Great rant.
