Excellent writing as always, Jack. I don’t put my money into new cars, but I really enjoyed reading this.

Eh? It says “By Jack Baruth November 11, 2014 / Photos by Matt Tierney and Marc Urbano”

and yeah, the Viper’s exhaust note has always been terrible. I’ve never cared for the sound of 5-cylinders or V-10s, but at least some like BMW’s and Toyotas have sounded harmonious. The odd-fire engine in the Viper can only ever sound crude. The very first years, they sounded downright terrible.

Sheer happenstance — and the test didn’t start out that way. Someday I’ll tell the story of how we ended up with the tricolor setup. 🙂

I detest that Jaguar. It’s another warmed over “Sony Guts” vehicle from the now incredibly stale mechanicals & only slightly less stale sheet metal lineup of the Indian-owned Brits (extending to the stale non-Indian owned Aston lineup).

I am really surprised that the Mustang was panned as being like the last one, and this really disappoints me if true.

I think it would have won again, to be honest. The Z06 almost certainly would have won, assuming it shares the normally-aspirated car’s core virtues and just goes faster.

There is NO WAY to please even 1/2 the readers of comparison test reviews/articles like these.

Besides, who has the best coffee (that’s rhetorical, actually, as it’s Dunkin’ Donuts)?

Nicely written article - entertaining and informative! As in IS F owner I think the RC F’s stability control issues are a real bummer. There is supposed to be a way to defeat it, but Lexus hasn’t made it public (on the IS F you just push a button for three seconds, which is wonderful).

I think these big comparisons should drop the “new this year or have significant changes” and just bring in the cream cars available. Not having the Corvette there borders on criminal.

Hey, Jack, I have a 4C and don’t think the transmission is all that bad. It may not be the car’s best part but I don’t think it gets in the way if you set it to manual shifting. What did you guys dislike about it?

Compared to the other DCTs in the test is was VERY slow to respond. More like a conventional automatic in response time.
