    I wouldn’t turn away a tasty natural finish H535… Do you have any hollows/semi-hollows Jack? Can’t say I’ve ever seen you play one.

      First Heritage I ever got was a 23rd Anniversary (post-fire) H-535. Then I got an H-555 from Heritage’s NAMM show display and another one from a dude in Detroit. They’re all gone in trades and sales.

      But I do have a few semi-hollows. Just off the top of my head, I have:

      * An ES-339 Figured that I bought during a long weekend in Nashville, at the recommendation of the shop foreman. Paid top dollar, don’t regret it.
      * An Electra Elvin Bishop with the vine inlay
      * An Electra 420VS

      I hate to say it, but the Elvin Bishop is a much better guitar than any of the Heritages were. Which is probably why the last Elvin I saw on eBay went for $1,699, more than a one-owner H-535 is worth.

    Since I’m already here… Have you checked out Sufjan’s new album yet? Pitchfork and their ilk are going nuts over it, currently at 91 on metacritic. Might it be too hipster for even the mighty Jack Baruth, lover of Vampire Weekend and Nick Drake???

    My first listen through left me with a pretty favorable, if somewhat depressed, impression. Be sure to check out “Fourth of July” (track 7?) and “Should Have Known Better”.

      No. I don’t think I’d ever sell my Aaron-Cowles modified Eagle and 575, nor am I in a hurry to sell my 357s.

      The solidbodies… I could sell without too much sorrow.

    It’s a shame you are not welcome on the HOC anymore. I miss your opinions! Yes, sometimes abrasive, but always honest, even when you were wrong. Hope Bill and I are still welcome at your place.

      You’ll be welcome from now until the end of time. Stop by on your way to the Pilgrimage-that-isn’t!
