Magnus Walker’s Passenger Asked Him To Slow Down Before The Crash

Everybody’s talking about how noted douchebag wanna-be “outlaw” car-painter and thrift-shop impresario Magnus Walker crashed one of his “outlaw” 911s this past week. But nobody seems to know how it happened. But, as they say, the truth is out there, and I have it:

His passenger, news anchor Vineeta Sawkar, has been outspoken post-accident. She told one reporter, “This guy, I don’t know why he was driving as fast as he was on that frontage road… All we wanted was some nice video of him in his car, that he restored. It was bizarre. I’m just thankful I got out of it alive and no one else was hurt.” She told Facebook that she asked Walker to slow down before the crash.

The same Jalopnik commentariat that was eager to attribute my icy-road crash last January on everything from drug use to receiving a blowjob from a guy has decided, in the absence of compelling evidence, that Walker was the victim of a trailer that backed into him… presumably at 50mph. Well, we know what happened now. Your boy done fucked up. And I’ll tell you something I learned a long time ago: If your passenger thinks you’re going too fast, slow down. Nothing good can come of anything that happens afterwards otherwise.

As for this so-called “outlaw” ramming a trailer, all I can say is what my friend Ethan Gaines said about Suge Knight crashing his car: YOU CAN’T GET BACK G POINTS YA LOST. Or, in this case, never had.

It’s so sad when white people write “hating on”

almost like white people having dreadlocks

        but not quite that sad

          ! DING ! .

I live in the ghetto and those assholes really chap my ass .

I’m not Black and don’t want to be, if you’re a dickhead I’ll dislike you as much as anyone else .

In the last few months I’ve lost sufficient weight off my narrow ass that my belt doesn’t hold up my Old Man Trousers like it did years ago .

Not like my bum is showing of course but it’s still a serious lack of self respect to have droopy drawers and your stinky behind in public .

Ask the ex jailbirds here what showing your behind in jail really means, most have no idea .

I met Walker at an automotive film festival held during the Detroit Grand Prix festivities. In person, Walker’s affable (FWIW, so is Ken Block) but while watching Street Outlaw I kept thinking that I’d be embarrassed if someone did that kind of hagiography about me.

Jack, I’m sure if you met Magnus you’d probably like him. As far as the “outlaw” moniker, that’s simply regurgitated from title of the Tamir Moscovici film. Personally, I hate these silly names; don’t even get me started on those R-Gruppe weenies. I spotted a picture of his car inside the Porsche dealership garage: that thing is seriously bent.

How can that lady in the picture not wear shoes? That doesn’t appear to be place that is pleasant to be barefoot.

…and to think that this guy is probably a BETTER driver than the typical 911 owner. People rave about how entertaining they are to drive, but I have to imagine that few have the Baruthian skill to handle one.

Long time lurker, first time poster at your blog. Anyways, that’s my backyard! Not shocking that I have not heard of this on the local news considering all anyone can talk about today is Hillary coming into town.

If its the road I am thinking of in front of the Porsche dealership, I’ve driven it a few times test driving new Jags while mine was in for service. That road is always busy and one cannot typically get much if any speed on that road (Google map: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.9712553,-93.3959014,16.5z) due to battling soccer moms strictly adhering to the 35 mph speed limit, other test drivers who treat dealer demo cars as if they are to be respected, ordinary people looking to sneak around a backed-up I-394, and the blind corners resulting from overgrowth and overpasses. To go more than 50 mph would be asking for trouble on that stretch of road.

Whilst I like some of the “outlaw” takes on 356s, and obviously the sublime Singer 911 recreations, I have always thought that the Magnus Walker stuff looked like old “tatt”, especially 277.

Jack, this has got me thinking about one of your previous articles on the dearth of unloved old Rolex watches out there. Is there a business opportunity of taking drab old Datejusts and creating “outlaw” Rolexes ? Just thinking out loud.

wow good to see video of it

I’m glad nobody was hurt, could have been much worse…he didn’t head-on the merc ( I thought I heard an impact though, did they clip mirrors? ), and nobody was standing near where he collided. plus no one got decapitated by the loading ramp.

I hope this discourages some of the morons who get inspired to drive like an asshat on public roads, when there are other people around. Go to a friggin’ TRACK for crying out loud

speaking of tracks: a Baruth/Walker showdown would be pretty entertaining press
