Alright, I’m off to have some remarkably interesting leg surgery. If it works, you’ll see me on a few more racetracks before the end of the year. If it doesn’t, well, all the new Ferraris are automatic-shift anyway.
I didn’t think they’d be able to hold the bone chunk in place orthoscopically. Did they use a plate or just the screws/washers? What was the back incision for, ligament repair?
Do you have a stationary trainer from your bike racing days? As soon as they let me put weight on that leg, I started spinning. From the time of my accident until I was fully ambulatory I lost about half of the muscle mass in that leg.
Best of luck. Avoid the painkillers as much as possible, and do everything the PT tells you. That way you can heal up quicker and chase the sadistic SOB down and choke the snot out of him/her. 🙂

Surgery was a success. Patient is resting… somewhat comfortably. 🙂
