About a year and a half ago, I gave you, the valued reader of this blog, a chance to buy a driveshaft-through-the-skull (DTTS) shirt. The response was quite a bit more than I’d expected.
As you can see above, this shirt is the choice of winners. This fellow bought himself an E46 M3 and promptly picked up a first-of-twelve in F Street Stock. oh man, if you have a M or L I want bad. I had one of the original Murilee run from back in his jalop days but one sleeve was about 3″ shorter than the other and it was unwearable.

Guessing a 4x is likely not one of the options. Shame, as shipping would be easy.
See my comment about embroidery below. Large embroidery on t-shirts is usually not a good idea, but I suppose if I did the design as a line drawing with running stitches it might work.

Would love that shirt! Today I won the bidding for a ’75 Eldorado droptop, which has no driveshaft but is definitely both old and heavy enough for head injuries to be a real danger of the restoration process. Does that count?
If enough people are interested, I can create an embroidery design to put this on other apparel like hat, hoodies or jackets.

It’s a weird place to be in. On one hand, what better shirts to get filthy in the garage. On the other hand, limited use items with a certain cachet in remaining pristine. Suddenly one understands the dilemma between daily-driven and, er, ‘dresser queens’.
I have the original and the reissue, both in blue.

Jonny sucks and blows. I’m sure he used his original DTTS shirt to wipe Angus Mackenzie’s man-cream off his face after an all-night caviar-and-hummer session.

I thought it was a reference to “The Running Man.” I imagined Richard Dawson saying it and everything.
I got one from the previous release and it has been a favorite. Maybe someday I will win one of these athletic events I keep entering, but I doubt it. I am doing well in the Foosball tournament at the office, this could be my big moment!
If the demand is great enough, I can help fill the need with a couple more XL and 2XL from my stash. Until we build our forever home with enough parking, working, and storage space, saving a few cubic inches here and a few cubic feet there have become a top priority.
