I wasn’t familiar with Sun Kill Moon… but man, that Les Paul Custom in the video is either an authentic ’59 or a very very very VERY good copy.

Can’t say much about the guitar unfortunately, only ever owned a Strat as part of a local music store $300 guitar/amp package back in high school. Tried to teach myself and ended up with some weird finger picking style I invented that made it difficult to progress beyond learning chords and the opening to ‘Walk, Don’t Run’. Spent the time on my jumper rather than trying to untangle those horrible habits I gave myself.
Honestly, that’s the only song of Sun Kil Moon I’ve ever listened too. Hahaha! The song, and that version specifically, hit me really hard and I don’t want to ruin the effect with further context. The references to spots in the Bay Area were what cinched it. Besides, I don’t think I could handle an entire album of that style.
