Reduced Volt-age

I like working with the crew at LeftLaneNews because, by and large, they come up with topics for me. When Nick, the site’s owner, said, “Write about the Volt price cut,” I wrote about the Volt price cut. There’s a small but vocal group of people on LLN who hate me, and another small but vocal group who love the Volt. It’s nice to see both of those groups have a chance to unite!

Where are you getting the $10k figure from? I doubt that the cost differential is that great. The batteries should drive up the cost to some extent, but not that much.

Plug-in hybrids aren’t selling very well. The Volt is actually the most successful of the bunch - it outsells all of the other plug-in hybrids combined. The Volt seems to suffer a from neither-fish-nor-fowl problem — it doesn’t provide enough incremental improvement over a conventional hybrid to be worth the cost, while it isn’t electric enough for the EV fanatics.

On another note, could someone please reactivate my TTAC account? I’m still locked out of it, Bertel Schmitt’s favorite avatar is still attached to it, and the contact form at the TTAC website doesn’t seem to be working.

    Thanks.

Got the $10K figure from the Lutz article.

You’re unlocked and I sent you the new password via email just in case Bertel changed it. Your avatar has been randomized. Welcome back. You were missed.
