“This is my point defense interceptor - a 2003 SV650s with a Yoshimura muffler,” writes Tyler, but the real heartbreaker for me is after the jump.
(And yeah, if you send in more than one bike I’ll put them all up.)

“This is my point defense interceptor - a 2003 SV650s with a Yoshimura muffler,” writes Tyler, but the real heartbreaker for me is after the jump.
(And yeah, if you send in more than one bike I’ll put them all up.)
A proper British bike for our eighth installment in the series. Bob says, “Have owned new a CB-400 Hawk, GPz-750, Seca-650 and FJ-1300.” Sometimes I think people are just screwing with me. At one point or another in my life I devoutly wished to have all four of those.
Shit is getting real now… Jim writes “This is about 18 years ago in a race outside of Show Low. Bike is a 380 KTM.”
Then he writes, “I have race pictures from back in the late 1960’s if you are at all interested.” HOW COULD WE NOT BE INTERESTED?
Seeing a picture like this makes me wish I’d been able to race MX as a kid instead of BMX.
I dig the story behind this one even more than I dig the bike. Jesse writes, “This is on the day that I culminated my decision to ditch rural life and move 300 miles to Queens, NY on a bike built in the same year that I was.” Nothing against rural life — hi ho, it’s the life for me personally — but I’m a firm believer in taking decisive action and being the captain of your own ship.
And, as always, totes jealous of gear-driven cams…
Dave sends in a shot of his 848 Corse at NJMP. I can only imagine what it’s like to rip this thing through Turn One on the Thunderbolt course. A while ago I was at NJMP for an AER race and I think I spent more time watching the sportbikes on the other course than I did actually helping my own team.
I have to say that this series is not helping me with my jealousy issues. Sean sends in this shot of his 2005 K1200S. This is one of my favorite bikes ever. I really would like to own a K1300S but I’m pretty sure I’d wind up in a Tennessee county jail.
I suppose it was inevitable that somebody would let the Ducs out. You rich bastards. This one belongs to Tyler. He says, “Happened to find parking next to the only other Italian vehicle in my office lot this morning.” This looks like a GT1000 Sport Classic to me, although if I’m wrong I know somebody will have the right answer.
This one comes from Nicholas, whom I just met in person for the first time at Nelson Ledges last week. “My 15yo nephew Matthew on his $1500 18k mi ’83? Honda.”
I think this is a Shadow 750. What say you?
I had so many #BikesOutForHarambe contributions that I’ve decided to give each one its one post. Feel free to comment about each bike as it appears.
One caveat: As regular readers here know, you’re allowed to be mean to me, and you’re encouraged to be mean to Bark, but please treat these riders with consideration and respect.
Anyway, here’s one from Robert: “My cherry 1982 CB900F, taken sometime in 1994 and at least 75 pounds ago.” Who wouldn’t be jealous of this warp-speed Eighties UJM?
