I dig the story behind this one even more than I dig the bike. Jesse writes, “This is on the day that I culminated my decision to ditch rural life and move 300 miles to Queens, NY on a bike built in the same year that I was.” Nothing against rural life — hi ho, it’s the life for me personally — but I’m a firm believer in taking decisive action and being the captain of your own ship.

80’s Honda motorcycles - still excellent ways to get around. Awesome to see one in the city, I bet a lot of people ain’t even know what hits them when you open it up in concrete echo chamber.
It’s a shame there’s no present-day analogue of the Japanese manufacturers. No one in the modern world is making excellent stuff and cutting deals on it - doubly so in the motorcycle world (although CSC is interesting). In b4 ‘but Hyundai!’ - yeah I owned one and it’s not a bad car but it’s not the screaming deal people make them out to be - it’s obvious where they cut corners and either it’s worth it or it’s not. But the Japanese didn’t really cut corners with things like the CB750 / CB550 and they priced them very aggressively.
Alas, at least we have smart phones we can stare into to blind our eyes to the present which doesn’t look too different from the past.
