Sunday Sunday Sunday

The clone is about to turn five years old! This is odd because I can vividly remember his early days in the incubator like they were yesterday, but on the other hand it’s hard to recall exactly how I thought about things and prioritized my life before he was born. We had a very nice party for him, his cousins arrived to play Legos and fly his brace of quad-rotors around, and he received about three long tons of toys from various well-wishers.

After the party, I went home and wrote a different sort of Sunday Story for TTAC. So far it’s proving to be a bigger draw than the usual fare; our weekend traffic is always slow but this is drawing the kind of clicks that would make it a success even had it been published on a weekday.

This is as good a place as any to put a few links to various Sunday Story and fiction pieces of the past in TTAC, random things I’ve written. So: in addition to the one above, we have:

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m apparently booked to drive a Camaro Z/28 this week. Not very exciting, if you ask me; I was hoping for at least an IROC-Z. The last time I was in a Z/28 it had “Cross Fire Injection”, which I don’t even think this one has. But in this business, you take what you can get!

    Jeez! I can probably write ‘your’ Z28 review for you. That snide remark put aside on to something less ornery.

    My boy turned five just yesterday, or it sure seems like it, actually he turned twenty six on Halloween. Time flies so fast when it comes to our kids growing up. Enjoy the ‘little’ guy while you can, in a blink he will be pestering you for the car keys, borrowing large amounts of money and bringing home beauties that your to old for.

    Hold on tight Jack ;

    Don’t close your eyes for one moment ~ I got my son when he was born before his mother did and then I blinked or something and he’s 35 and I have a baby grand daughter , is married and races AutoCross faster than I ever imagined I did ………

    The sweet childhood memories of teaching hm to ride a Motocycle , the first trip to the junkyard to - gether , teaching him to properly adjust valves and dwell angles , diagnosing weird & random engine noises , how to properly shim Babbitt rod bearings in a ’28 ‘A’ Model Ford , it all seems so long ago now……

    Teach him well to stand tall and be honest & independent , he’ll do well in this world , I’m still crying into my beer about him shoving off on his own a few short years after his mother bugged out .

    Oops ~ maudlin again , sorry .
