My fellow R&T‘er and Barkcast #1 veteran, Sam Smith, qualified third for a race in this year’s Goodwood Revival. I can’t guarantee that you will like the man after reading about his unforgettable weekend among the sport’s legends — I liked him before I started reading the story and now I’m just miffed at the general suckitude of my life compared to his — but I think you’ll like hearing about what it’s like to line up at Lord March’s home track.

Wow ~ that was great .

speaking of, I don’t recall seeing/hearing about it- how frequently are Barkcasts going to come out? just as they happen?
I think each Barkcast will be a crime of opportunity, so to speak. It won’t happen weekly because Bark and I don’t get together that often and/or we each have too much work on our plates to get people together once a week.
cool, thanks.
“The rest of the weekend was a benevolent fog. A sea of Pimm’s Cups. Getting lost in Goodwood’s pop-up village, a 1960s town with a working grocery. Sideways Cobras three-wheeling through Woodcote. The stands still packed at 4:30 on Sunday.”
I’m going. That’s all there is to it. That’s it.
Goddamn. Sam has really come into his own as a writer. Fantastic stuff. Life does get better after Jalopnik.
Yeah, that one’s brilliant. Made me want to attend a Goodwood event someday. Time for another read.
“Doesn’t matter, since you’re not going to crash it, eh?”
