I’d like to tell you that I had something to do with the Ford GT on this month’s cover, but my contribution to the issue falls into the “agony of defeat” column, not the “thrill of victory” one: Turn to page 104 to read all about helmets and why you should spend real money on a decent on when you hit the track. There are a few neat photos in there as well!

nice…I really enjoyed your article in the last one
even though it was a depressing look into the ( potential ) future of the true sports car.
Vanishing Point III….in the future, when NO ONE is allowed to actually drive automobiles anymore & everything is automated…one man makes a hell-bent-for-leather manic run from Denver to LA.
Pursued by Military Drones, Satellites, Cylons, and German Nihilists intent on cutting off his Johnson.
Even though they used to be in a band called AUTOBAHN
oh the irony….
Love the idea of a Vanishing Point and Big Lebowski movie mash up. Hahaha! ‘Ve vant the money, Kowalski!’
One of my favorite all time albums was explicitly inspired by Vanishing Point, hence the album title.
Oops, here’s the link to album I was referring to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUQquA7eYW8
**but my contribution to the issue falls into the “agony of defeat” column, not the “thrill of victory”**
“Agony of defeat” will also be the contribution that the Ford GT is going to be making at Le Mans this year.
I’m interested I reading the article and learning something, but so far in my handful of HPDEs to date they have all required (and inspected for) SA2010 helmets or better. I’m curious if SA2010 isn’t necessarily up to snuff.
SA2010 is fine.
SA2015 adds some testing for impacts on the lower edges of the helmet, like what you’d get from a doorsill if your head was floppin’ around, yo.
