The action starts at 0:54. The rider is on a Suzuki SV650, which isn’t a terribly rapid bike, but I’m not sure that anything short of a ZX-14 would have stayed even.
I would wager that this one might have a cammed big block under the hood. Also sounds like there might be some blower whine there too. Overall, a great looking and sounding car from what I could hear through my headphones.
The problem is that with modern tires and engines, it becomes very difficult to quickly assess which cars are slow-ass boulevard cruisers that would struggle to break into the 12s, and which ones are packing 1000 horsepower and can cut single-digit time slips on a set of 275mm “street” tires. A GM truck motor with a mild cam and a Chinese 65mm turbo running on cheap E85 probably won’t sound too mean, but drop that into a reasonably light chassis and you’ll have something that’ll toy with liter bikes all night long.
Don’t mess with old American iron unless you know exactly what is under the hood and in the wheelwells.
Especially surprising since I’d consider most 57s to be cruisers with TPI 350s.
