Maybe Not Tonight

This could have gone better — the infamous Vodka McBigbra can be heard banging doors shut in the kitchen — but I’m pleased with a particular joke at the one-minute mark or so. Rated R for language and adult themes.

In other news, I saw the ortho this morning and while he showed me two fractures in the pelvis that are still unhealed, he signed off on the idea of me being on the racetrack in the second half of March… which means I might be able to race in April, right?

A Few Better Shots Of The B25P

Arrrrgh! This thing is so hard to photograph! But I dragged it back outside for another session, at the request of someone who was considering having something similar built.

Spotter’s Guide To The March 2014 Road&Track

I’m nominally on leave from my various paid engagements at the moment, so the only thing you’ll see in R&T was something I wrote before I was injured. Still, it’s significant, at least to me.

Just Touching Bass

brom3

You saw it for Thursday Night Video but here it in all the glory the messed-up “kit lens” on my Rebel can provide: a Carvin Bromberg B25P in a suspiciously PRS-esque finish.

Thursday Night Video!

Sharp-eyed viewers will notice that there’s a new Carvin bass in town. And to commemorate its arrival — about which more tomorrow, since the UPS guy arrived after the sunlight for photos — we played one of my original songs, along with the Ocean Fade Private Stock.

And The Winner Is…

accord20

My new car is a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe with six-speed manual transmission, in a color known, amusingly, as “Modern Steel”. The whole purchase experience is documented in a story that will go up on TTAC tomorrow morning, but the photos from that article are after the jump. Ooh! This is like being part of a secret club, where you find out about some guy’s crappy Honda twelve hours before the rest of the Internet! Jimmypage.com, watch out!

Pictures Of The Day: Hopes, Dashed

015

Just got these, thought I’d share them with all of you… Tomorrow I take delivery of the Town Car’s replacement. The new monstrous “Britax Pinnacle 90″ child seat showed up today. So after tomorrow, no more looking back. But for tonight, let’s take a look.

All My Dolls

ketner-all-my-dolls

Two years or so ago, the artist Jeremiah Ketner released a print of his painting, “All My Dolls”, as seen above. There were fifty prints, numbered (unsurprisingly) 1 through 50, sold through his “Small and Round” store. I don’t know where to find forty-nine of those fifty prints, but I do know where to find #6/50. It’s double-matted and custom framed, two shades of purple and a silver metal frame with light engraving work.

It’s in my basement.

If I Had A Hammer… Well, I Do Have A Hammer

hammer

So. Yesterday, I picked a whole bunch of stuff up from the framing gallery owned by an old friend of my father (and, as fate would have it, of Vodka McBigbra’s ex-husband). I realized that I couldn’t remember where my old hammer had gone. Which meant it was time to go hammer shopping. But since I’m me (since I’m myself?) it had to be complicated and ideological and stuff like that.
